Joanna Glushak is an award-winning actress who has starred on Broadway in Sunday in the Park with George; Les Misérables; A Gentlemen’s Guide to Love and Murder; War Paint; Hairspray; Urinetown; and The Sweet Smell of Success. Along with her own leading roles, Joanna has also assumed standby duties for both Bernadette Peters (Sunday in the Park with George) and Patti LuPone (War Paint). In an over three-decade career, Joanna has worked with some of the most important directors in the American and English theater, including: Diane Paulus; Michael Greif; Susan Stroman; James Lapine; Darko Tresnjak; Jack O’Brien; Nichlas Hytner; Trevor Nunn; Scott Ellis; Gene Saks; Daniel Sullivan; Arthur Laurents; Christopher Ashley; Joseph Papp; and Gerald Gutierrrez. Joanna has Off Broadway Joanna has done many shows and just finished a wonderful run of a “Gloria A-Life”,playing Bella Abzug opposite Christine Lahti. Beyond Broadway, Joanna has played leading roles in National Tours (Evita, Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein, Finding Neverland, Xanadu, Fiddler on the Roof), the New York City Opera (The Most Happy Fella, A Little Night Music) and countless regional theaters including: American Repertory Theater; The Old Globe; Yale Repertory Theatre; Seattle Repertory Theatre; Arena Stage; Goodspeed Opera House and the Williamstown Theatre Festival. On Television, Joanna re-occurs as “Mrs. O’Tool” on the Emmy Award winning Amazon series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Joanna is a graduate of NYU and The Yale School of Drama.
